Tel Megiddo, also known as Armageddon in the Bible, is an archaeological site located in the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel. It is a tel, or hill, composed of twenty-six layers of human occupation spanning over 3,000 years, from the Early Bronze Age to the Persian period.

Tel Megiddo played an important role in the ancient world as a strategic location on the main road from Egypt to Mesopotamia and as a key site for control of the valley. Many battles have been fought at Megiddo throughout history, including a decisive battle in the 15th century BCE between the Canaanite king of Megiddo and the Egyptian pharaoh Thutmose III.

Archaeological excavations at Tel Megiddo have uncovered impressive remains of the city, including fortifications, palaces, a water system, a granary, and a large stables complex. The most famous find from Tel Megiddo is the Megiddo Ivories, a collection of ivory carvings that date back to the Late Bronze Age.

Today, Tel Megiddo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an important archaeological and historical site for visitors to Israel. It is located near the modern town of Megiddo and is open to visitors year-round.
