Tara Bridge, also known as Đurđevića Tara Bridge, is a concrete arch bridge that spans the Tara River Canyon in northern Montenegro. The bridge is located near the town of Žabljak and was completed in 1940. It is 365 meters long, 172 meters high, and has five arches, making it the longest concrete arch bridge in Europe at the time of its construction.
The bridge was designed by Mijat Trojanović, a Serbian engineer, and was built by the Italian construction company Società Italiana per Condotte d'Acqua. The construction of the bridge was a significant engineering feat at the time, and it required the use of innovative techniques to overcome the challenging terrain and the harsh weather conditions of the area.
Today, Tara Bridge is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Montenegro, and it is particularly popular among thrill-seekers who enjoy bungee jumping from the bridge. Visitors can also enjoy the stunning views of the Tara River Canyon, which is one of the deepest canyons in Europe, and explore the surrounding natural beauty of Durmitor National Park.
