The Princely Abbey of Corvey, located in Höxter, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, is a Benedictine abbey founded in 822 AD by the Frankish King Louis the Pious. The abbey was a center of Carolingian art and culture, and became one of the most important centers of the Ottonian Renaissance in the 10th century.

The abbey church was built in the early 9th century in a Carolingian style, with a westwork that was added in the 12th century. It was expanded and rebuilt in the Romanesque style in the 11th century, and again in the Gothic style in the 13th and 14th centuries. The abbey also has a library with an extensive collection of manuscripts, many of which are from the Carolingian era.

Corvey Abbey was an important political and cultural center in the Middle Ages. It played a significant role in the spread of Christianity and the development of the German language. The abbey was also a major center of education and scholarship, and many important figures from the Middle Ages studied or taught at Corvey, including the philosopher John Scotus Eriugena and the historian Widukind of Corvey.

Today, the abbey is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination. The abbey church is still used for worship, and the former monastery buildings house a museum, which showcases the history of the abbey and the surrounding region. Visitors can also explore the abbey gardens, which include a baroque-style garden and a wildlife park.
