The Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes is a historical complex located in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the slopes of the Verdera mountain range overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, about 14 km from the town of Llançà.

The monastery is considered one of the most important Romanesque complexes in the western Mediterranean. It was founded in the 10th century by the Benedictine monks, who dedicated it to Saint Peter, and it became a leading center of religious and cultural activity in the region during the Middle Ages.

The monastery was built in the Romanesque style and has a mixture of different architectural influences, including Lombard, Visigothic, and Arabic. Its most notable features include the cloister, which has a remarkable double gallery, the church of Sant Pere, and the bell tower.

The monastery was abandoned in the 18th century, and it fell into ruin. It was not until the early 20th century that its restoration began, and it is now a major tourist attraction in the area. Visitors can explore the monastery's many structures and learn about its rich history and cultural significance.
