The Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet is a historic theater located in the city of Lviv, Ukraine. Built between 1897 and 1900 in the neo-Renaissance style, the theater was designed by the well-known Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer, who also designed several other theaters in Central Europe.

The Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet has a grand façade featuring sculptures of Apollo, Terpsichore, Melpomene, and Thalia, the Greek gods and muses of music, dance, tragedy, and comedy, respectively. The interior of the theater is equally impressive, with ornate decorations and paintings, chandeliers, and plush red velvet seats.

The theater has a capacity of 1,106 seats and hosts a variety of productions, including opera, ballet, and concerts. The repertoire includes both classical and contemporary works, as well as performances by local and international artists.

Over the years, the Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet has played an important role in the cultural life of Lviv and Ukraine. It has been the venue for numerous premieres, concerts, and other events, and has attracted many world-renowned artists, including conductor Bruno Walter, pianist Vladimir Horowitz, and ballerina Galina Ulanova. The theater also played a role in the country's struggle for independence during the Soviet era, with performances often carrying a political message.

Today, the Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet remains one of the most important cultural institutions in Ukraine and a popular destination for tourists visiting Lviv.
