Lake Bumbunga is a naturally occurring pink-colored lake located in South Australia, about 135 km (84 mi) northwest of Adelaide. It is situated in the locality of Lochiel, near the town of Snowtown. The lake gets its distinctive pink hue from the presence of high levels of beta-carotene, a type of algae that grows in the salt crusts on the lake bed.
