Kolmanskop is a ghost town located in the Namib Desert, in southern Namibia. The town was founded in the early 20th century, after diamonds were discovered in the area. It quickly became a bustling mining town, with a hospital, school, theater, and casino. At its peak in the 1920s, Kolmanskop was home to more than 1,000 people, mostly German immigrants.

However, by the 1950s, the diamond fields were depleted and the town was abandoned. Today, Kolmanskop is a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors who are interested in exploring its eerie abandoned buildings and sand-filled streets. Many of the town's buildings, including the hospital and casino, have been restored and are open to visitors.

In addition to its historical significance, Kolmanskop is also known for its stunning natural surroundings. The town is located in the Namib Desert, which is one of the oldest deserts in the world. The surrounding sand dunes and desert landscapes provide a stark contrast to the town's abandoned buildings, and many visitors come to Kolmanskop to take photos of the striking scenery.
