The Ivan Vazov National Theatre is a theatre located in the center of Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria. It is one of the most important landmarks of Sofia and one of the oldest and most prestigious theatres in the country. The theatre was named after the Bulgarian writer and poet Ivan Vazov.

The theatre was opened in 1907, but its construction took several years, as the plans were repeatedly changed due to the high expectations for the building's design. The building was designed by the famous Austrian architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer, who were responsible for designing more than 200 theatres in Europe, including the Vienna State Opera.

The theatre has a seating capacity of over 800, and hosts a wide range of performances, including plays, ballets, operas, and concerts. The Ivan Vazov National Theatre has a reputation for being the most prestigious theatre in Bulgaria, and it has been the scene of many important cultural events in the country's history.

Today, the theatre is home to some of the most famous Bulgarian actors, and its productions are regularly attended by Bulgarian dignitaries, foreign diplomats, and other important guests. The theatre has also been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Order of Cyril and Methodius, one of Bulgaria's highest honors.
