Gonbad-e Qabus is a city located in the Golestan province of Iran. It is known for its iconic tower, the Gonbad-e Qabus Tower, which is considered to be one of the most important works of the early Islamic period in Iran. The tower was built in the 11th century AD during the reign of the Ziyarid dynasty and stands at a height of 72 meters, making it the tallest brick tower in the world.

The tower is constructed of baked bricks and features a conical dome, which is adorned with intricate geometric and floral designs. It is said that the tower was built as a tomb for the ruler of the Ziyarid dynasty, Qabus ibn Wushmgir, who was known for his interest in astronomy and mathematics.

In addition to the tower, the city of Gonbad-e Qabus has several other notable historical and cultural attractions. The city is home to several mosques, bazaars, and traditional houses, which offer visitors a glimpse into the region's rich cultural heritage.
