Golestan Palace is a complex of buildings and gardens located in Tehran, Iran. The palace was the residence of the Qajar dynasty, who ruled Iran from the late 18th century until the early 20th century.
The palace complex includes several buildings, most of which were built during the 19th century. The most famous building in the complex is the Marble Throne Hall, which was built in 1806 by Fath Ali Shah. The hall is named for its magnificent throne, which is made of yellow marble and is decorated with gems and gold.
Other notable buildings in the complex include the Mirror Hall, which is covered with glass and mirrors and is used for official receptions; the Talar-e Aineh (Hall of Mirrors), which is decorated with beautiful murals and stained-glass windows; and the Shams-ol-Emareh (Edifice of the Sun), which was built by Naser al-Din Shah and was one of the first modern buildings in Tehran.
The palace complex also includes several gardens, including the Bagh-e Melli (National Garden), which is a public park located in front of the palace. The gardens are known for their beautiful fountains, pools, and ornamental plants.
Golestan Palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. It is considered a masterpiece of Persian architecture and is an important cultural and historical landmark in Iran.
