Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Azerbaijan. It is situated on the west bank of the Caspian Sea, about 60 km south of Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. The area is known for its extensive collection of rock art, which is estimated to be more than 40,000 years old.

The Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape covers an area of about 537 hectares and includes more than 6,000 rock engravings and paintings, which depict hunting scenes, animals, people, and other elements of daily life. The rock art is located in caves, shelters, and on large boulders, and is thought to have been created by the hunter-gatherer communities that lived in the region during the Upper Paleolithic period.

In addition to the rock art, the site also contains ancient tombs, dwellings, and other archaeological features, including stone circles and a megalithic altar. The area is rich in natural resources, including mud volcanoes, thermal springs, and petroleum deposits, which have been exploited since ancient times.
