The Cies Islands (Islas Cies) are a group of three small islands located off the coast of the Galician region in northwest Spain. They are part of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park and are a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, known for their stunning natural beauty, pristine beaches, and crystal-clear waters.

The islands are home to a wide range of flora and fauna, including seagulls, cormorants, and falcons, as well as marine life such as dolphins and sea turtles. The waters surrounding the islands are also a popular spot for scuba diving and snorkeling, with a variety of fish and other marine creatures to see.

The Cies Islands are made up of three islands: Monteagudo (the highest), Do Faro, and San Martiño. The largest and most visited of the three is Monteagudo, which is home to the popular beach of Praia de Rodas, often voted one of the best beaches in the world.

Access to the Cies Islands is limited and controlled to protect the fragile ecosystem. Visitors are required to obtain permits from the regional government and must take a ferry from the nearby city of Vigo or the town of Baiona. The islands are also closed to visitors during the winter months to protect nesting birds.
