The Church of St. George is located near the village of Kurbinovo in North Macedonia, about 10 km south of Ohrid. The church is known for its unique frescoes which date back to the 12th century and are considered among the best-preserved medieval paintings in the Balkans.

The church was built in the 11th century in the Byzantine style, with a single nave and a semicircular apse. The interior walls are covered with frescoes depicting scenes from the Bible and the lives of saints. The frescoes are notable for their vivid colors and the intricate details of the clothing and the architecture depicted.

The most famous frescoes in the church are those in the dome, which depict the Pantocrator surrounded by the four evangelists and the twelve apostles. The Pantocrator is portrayed as a majestic figure, holding the Gospel book in one hand and blessing with the other. The frescoes in the nave and the apse depict scenes from the life of Christ, the Last Judgment, and various saints and martyrs.

The church was abandoned in the 14th century and fell into disrepair, but it was restored in the 1960s and 1970s. Today, it is a popular tourist destination and a protected cultural monument of North Macedonia. The church is also a popular destination for weddings and other ceremonies, thanks to its picturesque setting and historic charm.
