The Chinese House is a historic building located in the Sanssouci Park in Potsdam, Germany. It was built in the mid-18th century under the orders of King Frederick the Great of Prussia as part of his larger plan to create a "pleasure ground" at Sanssouci.
The Chinese House was designed by the architect Johann Gottfried Büring, and its name comes from its oriental-style decoration, which includes Chinese dragons, pagodas, and other motifs. The interior of the building was designed to serve as a banquet hall for the king and his guests, with ornate furnishings and decorations.
Over the years, the Chinese House has been restored and renovated several times, most recently in the early 21st century. Today, visitors to the Sanssouci Park can tour the building and admire its ornate decorations, as well as explore the rest of the park's gardens and other historic buildings. The Chinese House is considered a cultural and architectural treasure, and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
