The Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary is a prominent Catholic shrine located in the town of Fátima, Portugal. The basilica is part of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, which is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the world, attracting millions of visitors every year.

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary was built between 1928 and 1953 in the Neo-Baroque style. It features a central nave, two side aisles, and a large dome over the transept. The basilica is decorated with beautiful stained glass windows, colorful frescoes, and intricate mosaics.

One of the most notable features of the basilica is the Capela do Santíssimo Sacramento (Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament), which is located to the right of the main altar. The chapel is decorated with gold leaf and beautiful statues, and contains the tabernacle where the Eucharist is kept.

The basilica is also home to the tombs of two of the three children who witnessed the apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1917, Francisco and Jacinta Marto. Their bodies were exhumed in 1935 and moved to the basilica in 1951.

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary is a significant site for the Catholic Church and an important destination for pilgrims from around the world. The basilica holds several important events throughout the year, including daily Mass, processions, and the annual pilgrimage in May and October.
