Alaverdi Monastery is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex located in the eastern part of Georgia, in the region of Kakheti. It was founded in the 6th century by the Assyrian monk Joseph Alaverdeli and is one of the most significant cultural and historical monuments of Georgia.

The main cathedral of the monastery is dedicated to St. George and was built in the 11th century. It is the tallest church in Georgia, with a height of 55 meters.
