The Admont Abbey Library (Stiftsbibliothek Admont) is a breathtakingly beautiful and historic library located in the Benedictine monastery of Admont Abbey in Admont, Austria. Founded in 1074 by Archbishop Gebhard of Salzburg, Admont Abbey is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Austria, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, architectural splendor, and commitment to scholarship, learning, and religious devotion.

The library at Admont Abbey is the largest monastic library in the world and a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and design. Built between 1776 and 1779 by the Austrian architect Josef Hueber, the library's magnificent interior features a stunning blend of artistic elements, including intricate stucco decorations, frescoes, gilded sculptures, and ornate wood carvings, that create a harmonious and awe-inspiring space that has been likened to a "celestial temple of knowledge."

The centerpiece of the Admont Abbey Library is its breathtakingly beautiful and lavishly decorated Hall of Wisdom (Prälatensaal), a grand and imposing space that spans three stories and houses the library's extensive collection of over 70,000 volumes of books, manuscripts, incunabula, and rare and valuable works from the Middle Ages to the present day. The Hall of Wisdom features a magnificent dome ceiling adorned with a stunning allegorical fresco by the Austrian painter Bartolomeo Altomonte, which depicts the allegories of Wisdom and Divine Providence surrounded by the Four Evangelists and the Church Fathers, as well as intricate stucco decorations and gilded sculptures that symbolize the pursuit of knowledge, enlightenment, and spiritual enlightenment.
