Zermatt is a famous ski resort town in the Swiss Alps, located in the Valais canton in southern Switzerland. It is situated at an altitude of 1,620 meters (5,310 feet) and is best known for being the gateway to the Matterhorn, one of the most recognizable and iconic peaks in the world.
