Ston is a small town located on the Peljesac Peninsula in southern Croatia, near the city of Dubrovnik. It is best known for its ancient walls, salt pans, and oysters.

The town's walls were built in the 14th and 15th centuries to protect the town and its valuable salt pans. They are the longest fortification system in Europe, stretching for over 5 kilometers and featuring 40 towers and five fortresses. Visitors can walk along the walls to enjoy the beautiful views of the town, salt pans, and surrounding countryside.

Ston is also famous for its salt pans, which have been in use since the Roman times. The salt is harvested by hand and then dried on the sun, producing a high-quality sea salt that is used in local cuisine and exported all over the world.

Finally, Ston is known for its delicious oysters, which are farmed in the nearby bay. They are considered some of the best oysters in the world, and visitors can enjoy them fresh in local restaurants.
