Skogafoss is a stunning waterfall located in the southern part of Iceland, in the Skógar area. It is one of the country's most popular tourist attractions and is well known for its powerful flow and incredible height of approximately 60 meters (197 feet).

The waterfall is formed by the Skógá River and its name Skogafoss translates to "forest waterfall" in English, a reference to the lush vegetation that once surrounded the waterfall. Skogafoss is also one of the largest waterfalls in the country and is considered to be one of the most beautiful.

Visitors can walk up a staircase to the top of Skogafoss, which provides a stunning view of the waterfall and the surrounding area. There is also a hiking trail that takes visitors behind the waterfall, offering a unique and breathtaking view of its power and beauty.

Skogafoss is also known for its unique, rainbow-like optical illusion, which is created when the sun shines on the mist created by the waterfall. This is especially beautiful on sunny days and is a popular photo opportunity for tourists.
