The Prambanan Temple Compounds is a group of Hindu temples located in Central Java, Indonesia. The temple complex is considered one of the largest Hindu temple sites in Indonesia and one of the largest in Southeast Asia. It is also one of the country's most popular tourist attractions.

The main temple at Prambanan, also known as Roro Jonggrang Temple, is a towering structure measuring 47 meters in height and is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. It is surrounded by smaller shrines dedicated to other Hindu deities such as Vishnu, Brahma, and Durga.

The Prambanan Temple Compounds were built during the 9th century by the Mataram Kingdom, a Hindu kingdom that ruled central Java at the time. However, after the arrival of the Islamic kingdoms in the region, the temples fell into disrepair and were eventually abandoned. They were rediscovered in the 19th century and underwent extensive restoration work in the 20th century.

Today, the Prambanan Temple Compounds attract thousands of visitors every year who come to admire the intricate carvings, reliefs, and sculptures that decorate the temple walls. The temple complex is also a popular site for cultural events, including the Ramayana Ballet, a traditional Javanese dance performance that takes place at the temple grounds.
