Pienza is a small town located in the province of Siena, in the Val d'Orcia region of Tuscany, Italy. The town was originally called Corsignano and was the birthplace of Pope Pius II, who commissioned the rebuilding of the town in the 15th century as a model Renaissance town.

Pienza is known for its well-preserved Renaissance architecture and for being a prime example of a humanist town-planning concept. The town is famous for its stunning views of the surrounding hills and for its picturesque streets and piazzas.

The main attractions in Pienza include the Palazzo Piccolomini, a palace built for Pope Pius II's family, and the Duomo, a beautiful cathedral with a spectacular bell tower. Visitors can also explore the town's winding streets and alleyways, which are lined with artisanal shops selling locally made cheese, honey, and wine.

The surrounding countryside of Pienza is famous for producing high-quality Pecorino cheese, and visitors can sample this delicious cheese at the town's many cheese shops and restaurants. The area is also famous for its vineyards, and visitors can take a wine-tasting tour of the nearby wineries.

In recognition of its historical and cultural importance, Pienza was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.
