Passignano sul Trasimeno is a picturesque town located on the eastern shore of Lake Trasimeno in the province of Perugia, in the Umbria region of central Italy. The town is situated on a hill and offers beautiful views of the lake and surrounding hills.

Passignano sul Trasimeno is a popular tourist destination, especially in the summer months when visitors come to enjoy the lake's beaches and water sports. The town has a charming medieval center, which features narrow cobblestone streets, a fortress, and a 14th-century church, the Chiesa di San Cristoforo.

One of the town's main attractions is the Castello di Passignano, a well-preserved medieval castle that dates back to the 14th century. The castle features a keep, a drawbridge, and a tower, and is surrounded by a moat. Today, the castle is home to a hotel and restaurant.

Another notable attraction in Passignano sul Trasimeno is the Palio delle Barche, an annual boat race that takes place on Lake Trasimeno. The race is held in August and features teams from the town's four quarters competing in traditional wooden boats.

Passignano sul Trasimeno is also a great base for exploring the surrounding area, including the nearby towns of Castiglione del Lago and Cortona, as well as the wine region of Montepulciano.
