Moremi Game Reserve is a protected area located in the eastern part of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. It covers an area of around 5,000 square kilometers and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs, giraffes, zebras, and many species of antelopes.

The reserve was named after the local tribe, the BaTawana, who had the vision to turn their traditional hunting grounds into a wildlife reserve in the 1960s. Moremi Game Reserve was officially established in 1963 and became the first reserve in Africa to be created by local people.

The landscape of Moremi Game Reserve is varied, with lush grasslands, dense forests, and permanent water sources such as rivers and lagoons. The reserve is home to two major rivers, the Boro and the Khwai, which provide a habitat for numerous aquatic species.

Visitors to the reserve can enjoy a range of activities, including game drives, guided walks, and boat safaris. Moremi Game Reserve is known for its excellent birdwatching opportunities, with over 500 species of birds recorded in the area.

The reserve is a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers, and has been recognized as one of the most beautiful game reserves in Africa. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the larger Okavango Delta ecosystem.
