Minnewater Lake is a picturesque lake located in the heart of Bruges, a historic city in Flanders, Belgium. The lake is also known as the "Lake of Love" or "Lovers' Lake" because of its romantic setting and charming scenery. It is situated south of the old town and is surrounded by a park and greenery.

The lake was once a part of the city's fortifications and was created in the 13th century by damming the local river, the Reie. The name Minnewater means "the water of love" in Dutch, which refers to a romantic legend about a tragic love story between a girl named Minna and a warrior named Stromberg. According to the legend, Minna died of a broken heart when Stromberg was killed in battle, and her spirit resides in the lake.

Today, Minnewater is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, who come to enjoy the scenery, take a romantic stroll along the lakeside, or have a picnic in the park. The lake is surrounded by willow trees, swans, and picturesque bridges, creating a peaceful and idyllic atmosphere. Visitors can also rent boats to explore the lake or take a guided tour to learn more about the history of the area.
