Lake Nakuru is a large shallow lake located in the Rift Valley of Kenya. It is well known for its high concentration of pink flamingos, which come to the lake to feed on the algae that grow in its shallow waters. The lake and its surrounding areas are protected as part of the Lake Nakuru National Park, which was established in 1961.

The lake is also a habitat for several other species of birds, including pelicans, storks, and various species of waterbirds. In addition to its birdlife, Lake Nakuru is also home to a number of large mammals, such as buffalos, zebras, and baboons.

Visitors to Lake Nakuru can enjoy a variety of activities, including birdwatching, game drives, and guided walks. The park offers several picnic areas and viewing platforms, as well as a number of lodges and camping sites for those who want to spend more time exploring the area.
