Kinderdijk is a village in the Netherlands, located in the province of South Holland. It is famous for its 19 windmills, which are considered one of the best preserved windmill complexes in the world and are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These windmills were built in the 18th century to pump water from the low-lying polders and have become an iconic symbol of Dutch engineering and heritage. Visitors can explore the mills and learn about the history of the region, as well as take guided tours, bike rides, or boat trips to admire the windmills from the water. In addition to the windmills, Kinderdijk also features a visitor center, museums, and a nature reserve that offer a glimpse into the traditional Dutch countryside and way of life.
