Kangchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world, with a summit elevation of 8,586 meters (28,169 feet) above sea level. It is located on the border of Nepal and India, in the eastern Himalayas.

The name "Kangchenjunga" means "Five Treasures of Snow" in the local language, referring to the five peaks that make up the mountain. The highest peak, known as Kangchenjunga Main, is the third highest in the world, while the other four peaks are all over 8,000 meters in elevation.

Kangchenjunga is considered one of the most challenging and technical mountains to climb, due to its extreme altitude and complex terrain. The first successful ascent of the mountain was made in 1955 by a British team led by Charles Evans and Joe Brown.

The area surrounding Kangchenjunga is home to a variety of ethnic groups, including the Sherpa and Limbu peoples, who have their own unique cultures and traditions. The region is also home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, including rare and endangered species such as the snow leopard and the red panda.

Kangchenjunga is a popular destination for trekking and mountaineering, with several routes leading to the base camp and beyond. The area is also known for its stunning natural scenery, including pristine forests, alpine meadows, and snow-covered peaks.
