Jebel Shams is the highest mountain in Oman, rising to an elevation of 3,004 meters (9,856 feet) above sea level. It is located in the Al Hajar Mountains range and offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes, including deep canyons, rocky cliffs, and rugged valleys.

Jebel Shams is known for its trekking trails, which offer hikers the opportunity to explore the mountain's natural beauty. The most popular trail is the Balcony Walk, which takes visitors on a six-kilometer hike along the mountain's edge. The trail offers breathtaking views of the Wadi Ghul canyon, which is also known as the "Grand Canyon of Arabia."

One of the most popular attractions at Jebel Shams is the Al Hoota Cave, which is located at the base of the mountain. The cave is home to a number of rare and unique species, including blind fish and bats, and offers visitors the opportunity to explore its underground chambers.
