Etosha National Park is a protected wildlife area in Namibia. It covers an area of 22,270 square kilometers (8,600 square miles) and is located in the northwestern part of the country, approximately 700 kilometers (435 miles) north of the capital city of Windhoek. The park is named after the Etosha Pan, a large, shallow salt pan that covers around 25% of the park's area and attracts a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and more than 340 species of birds.

The park was established in 1907 as a game reserve, and it became a national park in 1967. The park is home to a diverse range of ecosystems, including savannas, grasslands, and woodlands, as well as the Etosha Pan. The park's dry climate and abundant water sources make it an ideal habitat for a wide range of wildlife, and it is considered one of the best places in Africa to see game.

Visitors to the park can take guided game drives and wildlife viewing tours, and there are several campsites and lodges within the park where they can stay. The park also offers scenic drives, hiking trails, and opportunities for birdwatching.
