Cittadella is a walled city located in the province of Padua, in the Veneto region of Italy. The city was founded in the 13th century and is known for its well-preserved medieval walls, which still surround the city today.

The walls of Cittadella are a major attraction and are one of the best examples of medieval fortification in Europe. The walls are about 1.5 kilometers in length and have a maximum height of 14 meters. There are four gates in the walls, each facing a different direction.

Within the walls, visitors can explore the historic city center with its narrow streets, old buildings, and charming squares. There are several notable landmarks, including the Cathedral of Saint Mary, which dates back to the 13th century, and the Civic Tower, which offers panoramic views of the city.

Cittadella is also famous for its traditional Palio horse race, which takes place twice a year, in May and September. The race features horsemen from the eight districts of the city, who compete in a high-speed race around the city's walls.

Today, Cittadella is a vibrant and lively city, with a rich cultural heritage and a thriving local economy. Visitors can enjoy the city's many shops, restaurants, and cafes, and can also explore the surrounding countryside, which is known for its picturesque landscapes and traditional farming communities.
