Castle of Almodovar del Rio is a medieval fortress located in the province of Cordoba, Spain. It is situated on a hill overlooking the Guadalquivir river and is considered one of the best-preserved castles in the country.

The castle dates back to the 8th century, during the Islamic period of Spain, and was later expanded and renovated by the Christians in the 14th century. It has a rectangular shape with four towers, and its walls are almost 2 meters thick in some parts. The castle is made of stone and brick and was built to withstand attacks from enemies.

Visitors to the castle can explore the different rooms, such as the chapel, living quarters, and armory. There is also a museum inside the castle with artifacts and exhibits that help tell the history of the castle and its role in the region's past.

In addition to being a popular tourist attraction, the Castle of Almodovar del Rio has also been used as a filming location for several movies and TV shows, including "Game of Thrones."
