Brühl Castle, also known as Augustusburg Palace, is a baroque palace located in the town of Brühl, near Cologne, Germany. It was built between 1725 and 1768 for Archbishop-Elector of Cologne, Clemens August of Bavaria. The palace was designed by the renowned baroque architect Johann Conrad Schlaun, and its interior was decorated by some of the most prominent artists of the time.

The palace is known for its lavish decoration and its impressive staircase, which features a ceiling fresco painted by Carlo Carlone. The palace also houses a large collection of paintings, tapestries, and furniture, as well as an impressive hunting lodge that was used by the archbishop-electors for centuries.

Brühl Castle is surrounded by extensive gardens, which were designed in the French style and include fountains, statues, and formal parterres. The gardens also feature an orangery, a hunting lodge, and a pavilion, which are all open to the public.

Today, Brühl Castle is a popular tourist destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also used for concerts, cultural events, and exhibitions. Visitors can tour the palace and gardens, as well as visit the nearby Max Ernst Museum, which houses an extensive collection of works by the surrealist painter.
