Birkat Al Mouz is a small village located in the heart of Al Hajar mountains in Oman, near the city of Nizwa. The village is famous for its lush green date plantations, which are fed by the Falaj Al Sarij, a 2,000-year-old irrigation system that has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The village is located at an altitude of around 900 meters above sea level, making it an ideal destination for visitors looking to escape the heat and humidity of the coastal regions. The cool weather and scenic views of the surrounding mountains make it a popular spot for picnics and outdoor activities such as hiking and camping.

In addition to the date plantations, Birkat Al Mouz is also home to a number of historic landmarks, including the ruins of a 17th-century fort and the remains of an ancient mosque dating back to the 12th century. The village also has a traditional souq (marketplace) where visitors can shop for locally made crafts and souvenirs.

Birkat Al Mouz is a popular destination for visitors exploring the Nizwa region, as it is located just a short drive from the city and the nearby Jabal Akhdar mountain range. Visitors can explore the village on foot, or take a guided tour to learn more about its history and culture.
