Amedee Lighthouse is a historical lighthouse located on Amedee Island in New Caledonia. It was built in 1862 by French engineers and is one of the most famous landmarks of the island. The lighthouse is constructed entirely out of cast iron and stands at a height of 56 meters (183 feet), making it one of the tallest lighthouses in the world.

The Amedee Lighthouse was initially built to guide ships into Noumea Harbor, the capital of New Caledonia. However, the lighthouse also became an important tool for weather monitoring and forecasting in the region. The island's remote location made it an ideal place to observe and record weather patterns.

The lighthouse was automated in 1985 and is now managed by the Maritime and Port Authority of New Caledonia. Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse and enjoy panoramic views of the island and surrounding waters. The island is also popular for snorkeling and diving due to its crystal-clear waters and diverse marine life.

Amedee Island and its lighthouse are considered to be one of the most beautiful and historic landmarks of New Caledonia, attracting tourists from all over the world.
