Akkerman Fortress, also known as Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Fortress, is a historical fortress located in the city of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi in the Odessa Oblast of Ukraine. It is situated on the bank of the Dniester River, near the Black Sea.

The fortress was built in the 13th century by the Genoese as a trading post, and it played a crucial role in the history of the region, changing hands between various powers throughout its existence. The fortress was conquered by the Ottomans in 1484 and was part of the Ottoman Empire until the 19th century, when it was taken over by the Russian Empire. During World War II, it was occupied by Romanian and German forces.

The fortress is now open to visitors as a museum and historical monument. It is a popular tourist attraction due to its well-preserved walls, towers, and fortifications, which offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The fortress complex includes a number of buildings, including the Church of St. John the Baptist, the Palace of the Genoese Governor, and the Turkish Baths.

The fortress has been recognized as a national historical and architectural monument of Ukraine and has been included in the list of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine.
