The 25 de Abril Bridge is a suspension bridge located in Lisbon, Portugal. It spans the Tagus River and connects the municipalities of Almada and Lisbon. The bridge was opened in 1966 and is named after the date of the Carnation Revolution, which took place on April 25, 1974, in Portugal. The bridge is one of the largest in Europe and has become a symbol of modern Portugal. It is also a popular tourist attraction and offers stunning views of the city and the river. The total length of the bridge is 2,277 meters (7,470 feet), with the main span measuring 1,013 meters (3,323 feet). The bridge has six lanes for vehicular traffic, as well as a pedestrian walkway and a bike path.
